Steven Curtis Chapman's green CD (I
can't remember the name) with the awesome song "Fingerprints of
God" I want it played at my wedding I reckon! It's based on
Psalm 139. It reminds us Christians, that God doesn't
make junk and He's lovingly made each of us just the way He
wanted us to be. What right do we have to be insecure with
ourselves and feel not good enough if God made us perfectly
according to His plan for us! Each one of us is a masterpiece of
God's handiwork-He doesn't make mistakes! It then goes on to remind
us that although we as people are weak and rebellious by
nature; our Father's certain long term plan for us is to
lovingly keep working in us to conform us to be more and
more like our Lord Jesus! COOL!! Bring on not having to struggle
with sinful nature anymore!

It's a super summary and memory verse to help us take heart in

in a pathology laboratory. If you have a blood test or
something like that, because you're sick, it gets sent to a
pathology lab where someone like me looks at it. So I get to
play with 'yummy' things throughout the week. The rest of the
time I'm either eating, sleeping or playing with friends and church
people, including youth.

the Rings, I'm looking forward to X2 but I fear the anticipation
will kill it for me.

Recent highlight:
I have been amazed by God's complete sovereignty through all kinds of different means as I have worked on 1 & 2 Samuel for an OT essay recently. Particularly I was struck by Hannah (at the start of 1 Samuel). She is such a remarkable character, and yet I think the most honourable thing about this Godly woman is that all the glory and credit go to God - see 'Hannah's Song' in 1 Samuel 2:1-10. Surely that is the mark of the truly godly person - one whose life reveals the work of God in all things and brings glory solely to Him! Praise God!!
Prayer points:
+ Praise God for gift of baby daughter due in June and pray for her safe arrival and for us to be Godly parents.
+ Pray for ability to think more deeply about Bible passages and to be able to ask harder questions to understand the Bible and know God better.
+ Pray for ongoing growth in Godliness of the three men I am continuing to disciple this year - Matt., Mike and Dave (as well as for myself). |
